Blog #4 Birding

First off I would like to wish everyone a good morning and hope you all have a good Super Bowl Sunday.  Only reason I will have a good one is because I’ll be surrounded by my loved ones and eating good food!  =)  So, on to the topic of Birding/Bird watching.  This is something I’ve always had an interest in but, never brought a camera along when doing so.  Now, with my trusty camera I already have many trips planned and just in my neighborhood alone, I have captured 22 different species of birds!  That’s not even leaving my immediate neighborhood!!  Its an amazing hobby and just so peaceful, even if you don’t have a camera just head out and start logging all the birds you see down on paper and you’ll be amazed what your eyes and ears open up to.  I believe my favorite so far has been the Humming Bird that I posted to my blog back a week ago but, yesterday I captured a Black Phoebe and let me tell you, that is one super cool bird right there!  Its a Flycatcher and what that means is it captures little bugs with its tail as it swoops down over a bush or even water.  I haven’t captured it yet but, one thing they love doing is flying over water, like my pool, and at full speed skim their tails across the water and pick up all the little bugs then they fly straight up, mid air they roll on their backs and free fall as they eat whatever is on their tail then they regain flight and take off for another run!!  So cool!  Anyway, be looking for my future posts because I will be updating you on all the activity I capture and even showing you all some of my favorite photos!  Till then, ta ta!!

P.S.

The image I have attached is the only shot I have been able to capture of the Black Phoebe!  This thing is slick and super fast so I was amazed I got it perched on my roof.  I just can’t wait to see it in action and be able to capture it! Image
